Draw and Guess
A player sketches a secret word while teammates race to guess it before time runs out, with no letters, numbers or talking allowed.
- Time
- 15 to 30 minutes
- People
- 4 to 30
- Where
- In person or Virtual
- You need
- whiteboard or large paper, markers, slips of paper with words, timer
How to play
- Write words or short phrases on slips, mixing easy ones like bicycle with harder ones like traffic jam, and fold them into a bowl.
- Split into two or more teams and choose the first drawer from team one.
- The drawer picks a slip, reads it silently, and starts drawing when the host starts a one-minute timer.
- Teammates shout guesses; the drawer may nod or point but cannot speak, write letters or use numbers.
- A correct guess scores a point for the team, then the turn passes to the next team's drawer.
- Rotate drawers so everyone gets a chance, and play until each person has drawn once or twice.
Tips
- Online, use a shared whiteboard tool, or have the drawer sketch on paper and hold it up to the camera.
- Stick figures and arrows are welcome; remind everyone that drawing skill does not matter.
- Let a nervous drawer team up with a partner or choose between two slips.
Variations
- All play: every team draws the same word at the same time, and the first team to guess wins.
- Team words: use project names, office objects or company history for an inside round.
